lower back injury

Was/is the provider affordable?

I don’t know if Sarah takes insurance. She charges $65 an hour, and asked me if this was okay for me. I believe she has done trades with other people i know. At the time $65 was affordable for me so that is what i paid.

Please describe your experience with the provider.

Sarah is gentle and kind and compassionate. She made me feel comfortable, cared for and respected. I did not feel rushed when talking with her about my issues. She listened and asked questions when needed. She answered my questions and asked if i understood her explanation. She asked consent to begin and described how the massage would go based on our conversation, and the protocol, such as to lay on my stomach to start, that she will knock on the door, etc.

Was the provider or practice especially good with a certain communities, having special skills or services.

I am queer and felt comfortable.

Additional Information:

Sarah’s treatment not only is helpful for my body to repair, but also is like being held close and cared for. The first session i had with Sarah, she used Reiki on me as well as massage, and my recovery sped forward.

Why did you see this provider?
I was looking into having mole removal

Was the provider affordable?
Yes, for me the provider was affordable. I do not have insurance and they did not ask me to pay for the first visit, where some moles were removed or an office fee.  On the second visit, i was also not charged for an office visit but was charged for the mole removal.

Please describe your experience with the provider:
What struck me about the Dr. was that he was made eye contact when i was talking and listened to my descriptions of my moles and concerns without seeming anxious to move on.  He also shared personal stories upon my asking him about his day and also was careful about my body and letting me know how he was going to navigate the gown and get access to my moles.  He shared information with me about moles and what may be problematic and what is not.

Please describe your experience with the provider’s support staff:
I think Doctor’s offices are dismal places, that said, i was treated as a number in the waiting room.  Upon being weighed and led to my room, the non-warm manner but not cold manner of the nurse was familiar and normal to me. It was fine.

Please describe the accessibility of the practice for you:
It was far for me to travel, especially in the winter and difficult to navigate by bus (2 busses to get there).  The layout was fine, the bathroom i used was a single stall. I don’t remember thinking about mobility impairments at the time, the halls may have been narrow.

Especially good with certain a certain community, special skills, or services?
